THOMAS S. STEVENSON, JR., R. A. Principal Tom Stevenson has been with LDA since its founding and became a principal in 1999. He previously worked with the City of Pittsburgh Bicentennial Commission and two other architectural firms, including The Architects Collaborative in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mr. Stevenson has directed many adaptive use projects, as well as new construction. He directed a space program and feasibility study for Blair County, Pennsylvania and recently completed a feasibility plan studying options for reuse of the Buhl Planetarium by the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum. Among his full service architectural projects have been the Landmarks Building at Station Square, a 75,00 SF office building; conversion of the Denniston School in Swissvale, Pennsylvania to rental apartments; and the creation of a luxury inn in the former Columbus, Indiana City Hall. He was the project architect for the restoration and expansion of the Hollidaysburg Borough Building and for the restoration of Botany Hall at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Mr. Stevenson was Principal-in-Charge of the Manchester Hope VI community revitalization project which included the construction of eighty-one new houses on scattered sites in this historic neighborhood and restoration of twelve existing structures for multifamily use. Recently completed projects include the restoration of Alumni Concert Hall and numerous other building improvements at Carnegie Mellon University and new administrative space for the Mattress Factory Museum. Mr. Stevenson serves on the Board of Directors of The Solebury School and is Chair of the Building Committee. Mr. Stevenson attended the Boston Architectural Center School and Carnegie Mellon University. He is registered in Pennsylvania. << previous next >> |
