HOLLIDAYSBURG
MUNICIPAL
BUILDING
Hollidaysburg, PA
The Borough of
Hollidaysburg was growing and needed additional facilities including a
larger Council Chambers and expanded areas for zoning, management, and
police offices.
LDA studied the Borough's-10 year needs
for facility requirements.
After exploring a number of options and
gaining clear title to an adjoining piece of land, the Borough decided to
restore and expand the historic 1910 Municipal Hall.
The project presented a challenge in
that the addition would represent almost twice as much space as the original
building. LDA prepared a design that joined the new and old portions with a
new main entrance. The proposal received the enthusiastic support of the
Hollidaysburg Historic District Review Board.
The project was phased so that the
Borough offices could relocate into the new addition before substantial
restoration began on the original building. The 911 Center was maintained in
operation throughout the construction process.
